It’s hard to imagine (as we are cooped up in the depths of winter) that before we know it, the sun will be shining and our foal we’ve been waiting for will be here! It’s easy to think that most of the hard work has been done, however a healthy mare and foal doesn’t happen by chance. Now is the time to ensure they’re getting vital nutritional care so that the foal can be given the best chance to grow strong and sound.
Barastoc have a wide range of feeds which have been scientifically designed to provide the best nutrition to your mare and foal, through every stage of the breeding journey. All Barastoc breeding feeds include natural Vitamin E which is proven to boost levels of infection fighting proteins called immunoglobulins and are fortified using Diamond V XPC, a powerful prebiotic to support gut health, digestion and immunity.
After 11 months of waiting your new foal is finally ready to arrive. Your mare that has been carefully bred, fed, dewormed, inoculated, and monitored is ready to foal. The ideal environment for a mare about to foal is a clean grass paddock where they can be observed with little disruption. For those who get to witness this regular rite of spring, the foaling process is a miracle that will always be a treasured memory.
Remember that nutrition plays an extremely important role in how your mare and foal develop. It can help to ensure that the foal develops to its full potential and your mare is equipped to continue producing foals in the future.
