Hi Charlize, welcome to the team. How old are you? I turned 13 in August
How long have you been riding? I started riding when I was 8 and have been competing for almost 3 years now
You have had some great success in a short amount of time, what’s your secret? My secret is having a supportive mum and dad. I also have amazing instructors and fantastic friends who come to all my competitions and help me keep the fun in the sport.
What do you love most about horses? I love horses personalities and spending time with them!!
Why did you enter the Barastoc Junior Squad Search? I thought it would be fun. I have been feeding my horses Barastoc for 2 years and the improvement I have seen in my horses has been indescribable.
What’s your favourite thing to do when you’re not riding? I love hanging out with friends and going to the beach
If you had to pick just one, what is your favourite discipline? No doubt about it, showjumping of course!!
If you could meet one famous person in the world, who would it be? I would love to meet Edwina Tops Alexander. She has been my idol for many years and I dream to grow up just like her
Who is your biggest supporter?
I don’t pick favorites. I don’t have one specific supporter. My horses, friends and family!! Without them I would not be who I am today!
What do you feed your horses? I feed Barastoc complete performer, Barastoc Groom, chaff and salt.
What do you hope to do when you grow up? My ultimate goal is to compete in the Longines Global Champions World Tour for showjumping. On the side of this I would like to become a horse masseuse or physio to help horses perform at the best of their abilities.
