Who supported you in the early days?
Cassie Palm: My Parents supported me until I got Married and then handed my expensive hobby over to Rob luckily, he shared the same expensive hobby as I.
Robert Palm: My parents supported me in the early days and Mum was always good at finding me some good cheaper horses that I took up the levels as a young kid.
What are some of the memories you look back on and smile about?
Cassie Palm: Some memories I look back on and smile about, was doing AND FINISHING my first 5 Star at Adelaide 3DE with Bentleigh Gambler who I bought from Rob when I was 18. Rob and I training many young horses up to the highest level in Eventing and Show Jumping , Koko Black, Koko Doro, Koko Pop, Koko Popping Candy, Napoleon, Contango Columbus, Fairview Metalica, Visual Laughter, Koko Hit, Jaybee Vibrant and Koko Story who was a young horse I trained to 2 star eventing. Rob then took over the ride to be shortlisted for 2018 World Equestrian Games. Koko Story is still in our stables back with me riding him around Mini Prix with ambitions to go Grand Prix. We still have Jaybee Vibrant and Koko Hit in our stables along with a new team of young show jumping horses.
How did you get started in the industry and who inspired you?
Cassie Palm: My sisters and I use to be Show riders with the help from Paul Austin. I decided I wanted to Jump at the age of 12. My Mum and Dad bought me a very fun schoolmaster Flying Zone. I then started having lessons with Yona Lloyd. I believe its important to have lessons early on to get you on the right track from an early age.
Robert Palm: My Mum (Rose) got my sister and I into horses at a very young age. There are a lot of inspirational horse people out there but the one that stands out to me the most is Bart Cummings.
Who do you look up to in the equestrian world and why?
Cassie Palm: There are many amazing hard working Equestrians I look up to, to name a few, the hard working Rose team Nikki and Shane they have a Pre training and Breaking in business where Rob and I worked and now have our own Pre Training and Breaking business, Nina Clarke who is always doing her thing for the sport and the riders.

What do you look back on and wish you could have done differently – and what advice do you have for other riders?
Cassie Palm: Never look back and wish you could have done something different, look back and plan to be better, try harder at what you do, get better advice and ask more questions.
Robert Palm: In Eventing there are always highs and Lows. It is a very level heading sport. So I've learnt to never look back and to always try harder and work on getting better.
What are some approaches to troubleshooting some common training and horse problems within your chosen Equine Discipline?
Cassie Palm: When training horses I always tell myself there not robots, you must change up there training routine and don’t get stuck working in the dressage arena all the time. A coach that will get on your horse is also very helpful. Rob and I often ride each other’s horses and exchange a little comment here and there on how the horse felt.
Robert Palm: I find when people send me breakers and say iv started it I just haven’t got on. That always makes my job harder because I find myself undoing the backwards work to then get the horse going forward and respecting me and my staff.
